| Richard Shain Cohen was the lecturer at the Maine Chapter
of AFIO, September 18. The talk based upon his novel, BE STILL, MY SOUL,
about World War II, covered espionage in Palestine, Germany, the European
and North African Theaters and the U.S. homefront. He spoke of a female
German double agent and an American recruited by the British and their
importance in deceiving the Nazis. The discussion then followed some history
of Palestine during the 19th and 20th centuries and followed to the present
and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Some of the material Cohen used came
through contact with the Israeli government.
